This book is called 'Decoding design' written by Graphic designer Maggie Macnab and published in 2008.
It is about symbolism and how to use it in graphic design. The book was written well and is easy to understand. The book has tones of information on symbolism, layouts and colour that is very useful to the current design world. Each chapter is numbered and the design information relates back to each number.
It also has a large amount of case studies and examples to support it's information & has de-constructions of existing logos. The book has very relevant information about design & even though it has quite a few topics we looked at in class, it helped me look at them in different ways.
This book doesn't have to be read from start to finish. You can start reading it from any spot at any time. The images used fit well with the text & it's overall a useful book for graphic designers to just flick through, research a certain subject or just have a good read. I enjoyed reading this book and its one I can always refer back to.
