IDN Journal

This is IDN Magazine (International Designers Network). "IDN shows you creative excellence through wide range of product." The magazine is set out with abstract layouts & geometrical patterns/shapes. It is targeted at New age Designers & has an upmarket feel with things such as: silver/gold printed ink & the paper is a little more thick then most magazines. This journal shows many snip its of other designers works and dose case studies on them. Most of the articles are quite short making it easy to read and flick through.

Volume 17 number 6 focuses on Minimalism and states that 'less is more.' This Magazine Comes with a DVD that showcases a few short films that different artists have made for marketing purposes. Including one for themselves:

I came across this article in my IDN magazine & I really enjoyed seeing it. This is an artist statement for 'recovering lazyholic' - Erin Hanson, Austin. Her 'Need to want' collection is something she makes in her own time for fun as a way to 'unclog' her mind. This collection has a comical feel whilst making important points at the same time. She aims for simplicity and fun.

The layout of this page is very geometrical and interesting to look at. The images a clean and clear. The figures are bright with a soft background. However the silver writting on the white background is difficult to read. My favourite piece/saying is in the bottom right hand corner =)

This is my favourite Design magazine because of the interesting abstract layouts. It is different then the avdverage magazine and keeps me engaged.
